A must-have player in construction: Sateco

Sateco is one of France’s leaders in the design, manufacturing, and rental of metal formwork for construction sites. With several thousand projects running in parallel across the country, the company manages dense and critical logistics every day, involving a very large number of dispersed pieces of equipment.

A clear problem: Where is the formwork?

At this scale, one of the major obstacles was the lack of real-time visibility on the location of rented formwork. The consequences were many:

  • Difficult to know precisely where equipment is at any given moment.

  • Frequent omissions and losses at the end of a project.

  • High costs linked to replacing or searching for equipment.

  • Reduced productivity and difficulty optimizing planning.

An IoT response designed for field logistics

To address this challenge, DFM Europe deployed GeoSmartOne, an IoT geolocation solution designed for industrial asset tracking.

Each piece of formwork was fitted with a compact, autonomous GPS sensor, capable of transmitting its position at regular intervals and according to operational needs: several times a day or once a week.

The associated platform provides precise, secure, real-time tracking, accessible from any workstation.

Measurable results from the first weeks

Thanks to the deployment of more than 1,000 GeoSmartOne sensors, Sateco was able to:

  • Track each piece of formwork accurately, in real time.

  • Significantly reduce losses and omissions at the end of a project.

  • Optimize logistics management and fleet maintenance.

  • Achieve concrete savings on equipment replacement and searches.

  • Improve customer service through better traceability.

Product focus: What is GeoSmartOne?

GeoSmartOne is a compact, rugged, and autonomous GPS sensor, specially designed for tracking strategic industrial assets. It allows you to remotely track any piece of equipment: formwork, machinery, containers, vehicles, and more.

Key features:

  • Real-time location tracking.

  • Flexible configuration of data transmission frequency.

  • Smart alerts in case of unauthorized movement or leaving a defined zone.

  • Simple and intuitive visualization platform.

  • Long-lasting battery life and easy installation.

The solution is fully scalable and adaptable to other use cases: logistics fleet management, securing rental equipment, and traceability of high-value goods.

Technology in the service of field visibility

At DFM Europe, we create practical solutions to make assets visible, traceable, and more profitable. With GeoSmartOne, we help our customers turn logistics into a strategic advantage.
